South Korea's Yang takes home LPGA Thailand trophy

South Korea's Amy Yang won the Honda LPGA Thailand for the third time in Pattaya on Sunday, completing at 22-under-standard 266 after a strained three-way tie.

Scoring a series of birdies promptly in the day, the 29-year-old was looked with a tie on 15 for 20-under-standard with Australia's Minjee Lee and Spain's Carlota Ciganda.

She immediately continued her lead on 16 and took the trophy and $240 000 prize home after a birdie on 18.

"I realized I was sharing the lead yet all I attempted to do was continue centering and be quiet," she said.

Yang, who recently won the competition in 2015 and 2013, said playing at the Pattaya course was "exceptional" to her.

"I am extremely respected to have three successes here," Yang said.

Spaniard Ciganda confessed to having "nerves" and "adrenaline" for the last couple of openings.

Be that as it may, she said she was "generally speaking upbeat" with her execution, completing at 20-under-standard 268.

South Korea's Jenny Shin, who was Friday's leader, trailed firmly behind at 17-under-standard, while LPGA Australian Open victor Nelly Korda was three strokes behind her.

The $1.6 million LPGA Thailand is being held at the standard 72 Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course in Chonburi region.

Thailand's reality number 1 Ariya Jutanugarn fell further on the leaderboard on the last round with a 70 with two intruder, while her sister Moriya fared better with a 69.
