Group Sky's Ben Swift in serious consideration after accident

Group Sky's Ben Swift is in concentrated consideration with a burst spleen in the wake of smashing on a preparation ride with Geraint Thomas.

The 31-year-old cut stone while plunging, making him crash vigorously, Team Sky said.

Quick, who completed fifth in the UCI Road World Championships in 2017, was preparing in Tenerife when the occurrence occurred on Wednesday.

"I am still in serious consideration right now," Swift tweeted.

"In any case, I ideally proceed onward to a typical ward tomorrow. They have ceased the seep in the spleen. In any case, simply need to continue observing it. Alongside that, I have facial injuries and street rash."

Group Sky specialist Inigo Sarriegui included: "Swifty endured a significant substantial accident while out preparing. Fortunately, however, he didn't lose awareness and knew about the episode thereafter.
